I am dissatisfied, and angry as a result.
The series started off on a worrying tone, but has without a doubt since redeemed itself. I gladly bought episodes 6-8 and am confident that I will enjoy them as thoroughly as I did the first saga.
EDIT:
I did not enjoy episodes 6-8 nearly as thoroughly as I did the first saga.
The ending was among the biggest climactic let downs I have ever experienced. Intensely unsatisfactory, especially coming from a storytelling giant like Telltale. I would have been much happier if it had ended at Episode 4, because everything after that was a waste of money and a waste of time. Perhaps I got too invested into the story, perhaps I expected too much. Perhaps I should lower my expectations for Telltale. God, that hurts to say.
On top of subjective quality, objective, technical quality diminished in the latter chapters as well: especially in animation, scriptwriting, line syncing, and even the voice acting. Everything was so slapped on that I dont feel like going into detail. Ive wasted too much time on this game already.
As a whole, they really slapped together the end chapters, and it felt insulting. If I were grading it Id give it a D. Walking Dead Season 3 had better blow me away, because this game has greatly diminished the prestigious standard I held for Telltale, one I previously thought I would never have to question.
Long point short, I do not recommend you buy the extra chapters. Just play the first four or five episodes and stop there.
